Ever since we moved out of New York City, our visits back have always been exciting but so often it's hectic and stressful. For the first time in seven years, this visit felt calm and stress-free, and that is entirely thanks to our stay at The Algonquin Hotel.
We found out about the Algonquin through our best friend and famous intuitive tarot reader and divination guide, Cardsy B, who is their Wellness Witch In Residence. Is there a cooler sounding job position?! Her residency will pick back up this Fall, so be sure to look for the Hex and the City package for an unforgettable magical experience.
The hotel is famous for many reasons, mainly because of its storied history dating back to the early 1900s. Many literary, political and musical icons made the Algonquin their mainstay, specifically gathering around The Round Table, which we were very excited to sit at. Oh, and let's not forget one of the most iconic characters, Hamlet the Algonquin Cat!
We cannot express enough how cozy and cloud-like this king bed was. It's the kind of bed you climb into and don't have to toss and turn at all because you are immediately as comfortable as you'll ever be. Having a place to truly rest after long days in New York is crucial, and this room was a haven. We particularly loved the blue walls and homey details, because so often modern hotels are sterile.
The restaurant and bar area is such a cool vibe. There's a variety of seating, but mainly plush leather chairs and couches, making your dining experience really relaxing. The food is divine and the waitstaff is wonderful. (Especially loved their little "push for service" lights!)
Oh, and the cherry on the cake is this hotel is only two blocks north of the gorgeous Bryant Park, one of our favorite parts of Manhattan.
Be sure to check out our article about The Algonquin Hotel in Nfocus Magazine! Clearly, we loved our visit and cannot wait to go back to experience another season.
